In order to collaborate on a project or communicate within an EDU account, users must be part of the same Soundtrap group. Teachers and students can be part of multiple groups and the number of groups you can create depends on which subscription plan you're on. This article will review how teachers can create a Soundtrap group and how to activate a group code.
NOTE: If you're on the Classroom plan you have a limitation of 2 groups. For the School and District plan you have unlimited groups. If you wish to upgrade to a School or District Plan, you can do so by going to this link if you wish to pay via invoice, and this link if you've paid via credit card.
If you downgrade from School or District to Classroom, make sure you delete all groups except the 2 groups you wish to keep by following these instructions: How to Delete a Soundtrap Group
How to create a new Soundtrap Group:

Go to Groups and click Create group.

In the pop-up, name your group and click Create.
Congratulations! You've created a new Soundtrap group.
You can now:
a) Invite students to join your new group.
b) Send a group message.
c) Send a direct message to a specific member in the group.
d) Delete the group or Rename the group.
How to activate a Soundtrap group code
When activating the invite link/code, you can choose to activate the invite code for 60 minutes or 30 days.
You’ll also see the status of the code/link in the Group tab.
To protect your students’ safety, make sure the group code is shared privately and only with the users that should be part of your group. Remember to deactivate the group code once your students have successfully joined.
How to Delete a Soundtrap Group:
- Go to Groups and click the "delete" icon directly or go into the group > click the three-dot menu and then "delete group" as shown below:
