A Noise Gate is a valuable effects that mutes or reduces the volume of a signal when it falls below a certain threshold, effectively eliminating unwanted background noise, such as breathing, coughing, or hiss, during quieter passages. This feature is especially useful for podcasts and vocal recordings.
Additionally, it can be used creatively to eliminate elements of your recordings and produce interesting sounds.
Attack knob: Determines how quickly the gate opens when the signal exceeds the threshold.
Hold knob: Controls how long the gate stays open after signal falls below the threshold.
Release knob: Sets how quicky the gate closes after the hold time has elapsed.
NOTE: This feature is only available for paid Vocals & Songwriting and Production & Vocals users only.
