FAQs
How much cloud storage do I have to import videos?
Video import storage limits vary by plan:
- Trial: Video import isn't available. You'll need to upgrade to a paid plan to import your own videos.
- Classroom and School: 1GB import limit per user.
- District: 2GB import limit per user.
If you exceed your import limit, you'll see a "Video import limit reached" notification. To free up space, delete the video track from the project. Storage usage and import quota tracking are not currently available, but will be added soon. Stay tuned!
Users on a School or Classroom plan can also upgrade to a District plan for more storage. Check our EDU pricing page for full plan details.
Why am I not able to import videos in spite of having deleted videos for old projects?
This is because you’ve deleted the project itself and not the video track. When you delete the entire project, it stays in “recently deleted” for 30 days and you need to delete it from there in order to free up space. You can check this support article for how to remove it from recently deleted. After removal from Recently Deleted, it may take up to 24 hours for the space to be freed up.
Why don't I see an option to import videos?
If you're unable to import videos in your Video Scoring project, an account administrator may need to enable Video import from your Account's Settings.
In what resolution can I export my video scoring project?
Export resolution depends on your plan.
- Trial: SD (480p) only, and you can export once.
- Classroom and School: SD (480p) only.
- District: Full HD (1080p), as well as SD (480p).
Check our EDU pricing page for full plan details.
Am I able to continue working on my Video Scoring project on a mobile device?
Video Scoring works on mobile web browsers, but it's optimized for desktop and isn't supported in the Soundtrap mobile app. For the best experience, we recommend using a desktop. If you do need to work on a project from a phone, open it through your mobile browser rather than the app.
Can you import videos with audio?
Yes! You can import videos in MP4 format that are max 5 min long. When importing videos
with audio, the audio file will be extracted from the video and you’ll be able to manipulate it just like a normal audio track. This means you can add effects, split, or add interactive transcripts to it.
Can you edit the original video file?
No, this is not yet available, but something we are hoping to bring in for future updates.
Is Video Scoring available to non EDU Soundtrap users?
Not currently. Video Scoring is exclusive to Soundtrap for Education accounts and isn't available to Music Maker users.
