Mic feedback

I dont quite understand the reasoning for taking away a function such microphone feedback, it helped me make my music and was honestly a needed feature. I read around and some said it was due to lag. My question is why isn't there an option anymore for it? If it is laggy for users why take it away completely? It's better to have an option rather than have it taken away because it isn't perfect.
