Sound quality and sample rate

I would like to be able to set a quality level on a recording higher than the current limit of 16-bit and 44.1 kHz. I was recently asked to submit a recording for a project that requires 24-bit, 48000 kHz sample rate.  I don't want to have to learn a new DAW just to make this possible!

  When we will be able to record and export files in 24-bit 48KHz?
