need help: student login and opening Google Classroom projects
Hi there – I'm launching a remote audio recording project on Monday, and I've create a Dummy Class to test functionality before I send to students. I'd love to hear any ways of streamlining this for students.
ISSUE: Potential student confusion and obstacles with logging in, accessing assigned projects, and/or accessing monitoring.
REASONS: Chrome on iOS not supported for login and Google Classroom defaults to logging in to Soundtrap through Chrome. Logging in through Google Classroom link in iOS does not trigger app to open. Logging in directly through iOS app does not load project until accessed and saved another way. Mac+Chrome or app are the only ways to use monitoring, but chrome on iOS not supported for login.
METHOD OF TESTING
I've created an assignment through Soundtrap to Google Classroom. I've created two student test accounts, I've encountered the above issues, and I'm concerned that some students will hit obstacles decreasing their likelihood of success. I don't have Android or Windows devices to test with, and I'm concerned there may be similar issues that I won't be able to help students with.
Thanks!
Wes Webb

We are finding similar issues with the Soundtrap app on our student iPads:
- Assigned projects load in the Mobile Safari browser but don't load in the app
- Once a project is saved in Mobile Safari it can be accessed in My Projects in the app
- Logins fail when attempted in the app
- Projects don't load successfully in the app, but they do in mobile Safari

Hello Wes, thanks for getting in touch. We've received your email about this, too, and we hope we've been thorough in our response. For further concerns, please don't hesitate to send us another email :)
Hi ekramer.waynflete, please have them try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Close all other apps before using Soundtrap
- Clear your device's cache
- Restart your device
- Reinstall the app and make sure it's updated
If the problem still persists, kindly send us an email about this so we can investigate further. Let us know how it goes :)

I have submitted a support request, as well.

And the support response was enlightening:
"Google Classroom is not yet supported in the mobile app as our mobile apps don't have deep linking support. This, along with the Google login issues in the iOS, are some of the issues we're looking forward to get fixed in the next app update release.
At the moment, we don't have any available information about the release date, but you can rest assured we're working to fix this as soon as possible."
I wish we had known this before we started using Soundtrap and struggling continually with our students who are using iPads as their remote-learning device.
I hope these issues can be resolved by the fall.
