Premium-gating Is Killing The Platform
Dear Soundtrap admins,
I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent changes to your platform. As a musician who has used Soundtrap for years, I was initially drawn to the platform because of its promise of being a free and easy-to-use tool for creating music online.
However, I have noticed that over time, more and more of the platform's features and content have been locked behind a paywall. In fact, it seems that nearly 90% of the good or decent content is now only accessible with a subscription.
I understand that Soundtrap needs to make money to continue operating and developing new features. But the decision to hide so much of the platform's content behind a paywall is misguided and is driving away loyal users like myself.
Instead of enticing users to pay for a subscription, it seems that this approach is only driving them away to other platforms like Bandlab. In fact, many of my musician friends have already made the switch because they no longer feel that Soundtrap is a viable option for their needs.
I urge the Soundtrap admins to reconsider this approach. While it may provide a short-term boost to revenue, it will ultimately kill the site in the long run. As a user who has been with Soundtrap since its early days, I implore you to listen to your users and find a way to keep the platform accessible and appealing to musicians of all levels.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
