If the studio produces crackling, glitchy, lagging sounds or random silence, try some of the following suggestions:
- Make sure you're not running a lot of power consuming programs on your computer, as they can slow down the performance of Soundtrap.
- Try reducing the playback sound quality. Go to Settings -> Sound quality and select "Low" (1).
- Try the "Freeze track" feature. Click on the ellipses menu in the track header and choose "Freeze track (free up CPU)". This will temporarily "freeze" the track from editing, but it will reduce the CPU usage a whole lot. A snowflake icon will show above the instrument icon for indication that it's "frozen" (2). (If you wish to "unfreeze" the track, click on the ellipses menu again and click "Unfreeze track")
(1) Settings -> Sound quality -> Low
(2) Freeze track
Additional Troubleshooting steps to try out if you're experiencing issues:
- Keep your browser updated
- For the best possible experience within Soundtrap, we encourage you to regularly update your web browser to the latest version available.
- Clear cache and cookies
- We recommend that you clear your browsers cache and cookies regularly as well. Accumulated cache and cookies can slow down the performance when using Soundtrap.
- Optimize internet connection
- Make sure to check your internet connection. We suggest that you use a stable and fast internet connection for best experience within Soundtrap.
- Limit background processes
- It might also help to close down unnecessary tabs, applications, or downloads running in the background as they can consume bandwidth and CPU resources, which might also affect the performance within Soundtrap.

Hi, is there a way to save frozen tacks and have them frozen when you close and reload the project, so that there's non need to freeze them again? Thank you.
My studio is not responding to anything I do, for example press the play button or try and save it, it is definitely not my computer because I can do other thing on Google Chrome
